Ginter Place

Commonwealth Architects is presently providing architectural and engineering services to adaptively convert the 430,000 square foot former Richmond Memorial Hospital facility into a project of mixed use. Located on 15 acres in Richmond’s Ginter Park neighborhood, the project will contain a variety of residential products along with some business, assembly, and institutional uses. The new community will also support a wellness center and dormitory for the adjacent Baptist Seminary. The unit mix is anticipated to include one, two, and three bedroom apartments ranging from approximately 1,000 to 2,500 square feet, along with 2 bedroom townhouse and condominium units ranging from approximately 1,500 to 2,500 square feet.

The Richmond Memorial campus and surrounding neighborhood was made a State and Federal Historic District in 2001. All proposed modifications to the existing hospital shall be designed in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation in order to be eligible for Investment Tax Credits.
